Sensing capacity and operational limits

The sensor operates reliably within a 35...120 mm range with switching hysteresis below 5 %. It handles ambient light up to 10000 Lux and provides a switching frequency of 600 Hz with a response time of 833 µs. Temperature drift stays under 5 % across a -25...60 °C range. The PNP output switches up to 200 mA with a voltage drop below 2,5 V. Performance degrades outside the specified temperature window or if the target reflectivity falls below the sensor's detection threshold.

Thermal behaviour and power characteristics

The unit draws less than 30 mA at 24 V DC from a 10...30 V DC supply. Built-in short circuit, reverse polarity and overload protection safeguard the output stage. Protection Class III insulation eliminates the need for a protective earth connection. The red light source is rated for 100000 h service life at +25 °C. A potentiometer allows manual adjustment of the switching point without additional tools.
