1/16" Cobalt Drill Bit Set

This set contains twelve 1/16 inch M35 cobalt drill bits designed for drilling hard metals such as stainless steel and cast iron. Each bit has a 0.8 inch flute length and a 1.7 inch overall length with a straight shank that fits most power drills. A portable plastic case is included for storage and organisation.

Upgrade from standard HSS bits

The 5% cobalt alloy increases hardness and heat resistance, making these bits more durable than ordinary high-speed steel when cutting tough materials. The 135° split point prevents walking and reduces the force needed to start a hole. Switch to this set when standard bits wear too quickly or overheat in stainless steel, cast iron or similar alloys.

Capacity for hard metal drilling

The bits comfortably handle stainless steel, steel, cast iron, sheet metal and aluminium alloy, and also cut plastic and wood. The fully ground spiral groove clears chips efficiently to keep temperatures lower during extended use. They are not suited for masonry, concrete, glass or ceramics, and very large diameter holes will require a different bit size.
