M30 Inductive Sensor for Metal Detection

The Turck NI20-M30-AD4X is a non-flush inductive proximity switch built for industrial automation. Its M30 × 1.5 threaded brass barrel allows direct mounting into standard machine fittings. The sensor detects metal targets at a rated switching distance of 20 mm and operates on a 10 to 65 VDC supply. It suits engineers and maintenance teams wiring presence-sensing into conveyors, presses or robotic cells.

Passive 2-Wire Operation with Wide Voltage Range

The DC 2-wire output draws power from the signal loop itself, eliminating a separate supply wire. With an operating window of 10 to 65 VDC the unit tolerates long cable runs and voltage drops common in large plants. Normally-open contacts close only when metal enters the sensing field, keeping control logic simple. No active electronics means minimal heat and no audible noise during continuous duty cycles.

Chrome-Plated Brass Housing with Integral Cable

The CuZn barrel is chrome-plated to resist coolant, oil and mechanical wear in harsh shop environments. A moulded cable exits the rear, removing the need for a separate connector and reducing potential leak paths. At 191 g the sensor adds negligible mass to moving brackets or tooling plates. Non-flush mounting requires a clear zone around the sensing face, so installers must keep adjacent metal clear to avoid false triggers.
