M30 inductive sensor for metal detection

The Turck Bi10U-MT30-AP6X-H1141 is a flush-mountable inductive sensor with a threaded M30 × 1.5 brass barrel. It suits automation engineers and electricians who need reliable non-contact presence sensing of metal targets in industrial environments. The PNP normally-open output switches loads directly from a 10–30 VDC supply. A PTFE coating protects the housing against weld spatter and aggressive media.

10 mm switching distance and Factor 1 across metals

The sensor delivers a rated switching distance of 10 mm with Factor 1 for all metals, so ferrous and non-ferrous targets are detected at the same range without correction factors. High switching frequency supports fast cyclic applications. The extended temperature range and IP68 protection class allow continuous operation in harsh conditions. Magnetic-field immunity prevents false triggers near welding equipment or large motors.

M12 connector and DC 3-wire interface limits

Electrical connection uses an M12 × 1 male connector on a DC 3-wire circuit, so the device requires a compatible cordset and a 10–30 VDC source. The PNP output sources current to the load and cannot drive sinking inputs directly. Cable length and voltage drop depend on the chosen cordset and supply wiring, which are not included. The sensor is not designed for non-metallic target detection or analogue distance measurement.
