Light-level measurement for LED and visible sources

The TM-209 is a handheld meter designed to measure illuminance from white-light LEDs and all visible sources. It displays readings in lux or foot-candles on a 3½-digit LED screen with a maximum count of 2000. The silicon photodiode sensor is cosine-corrected and its spectral response follows the CIE luminous efficiency curve. Accuracy is ±3 % when calibrated to a standard incandescent lamp at 2856 K and corrected for LED daylight white, and ±8 % for other visible sources.

Suited for electricians

This meter serves professionals who need to check LED light intensity on site and record up to 99 manual readings with data-hold and max-hold functions. Zero adjustment and manual ranging across four lux ranges and four foot-candle ranges cover measurements up to 200 000 lux. Buyers who require automatic ranging, data logging to a computer, or spectral analysis beyond the CIE-matched response should consider other instruments.

Maximum range of 200 000 lux and 20 000 foot-candles

The highest selectable range tops out at 200 000 lux or 20 000 FC, so any environment exceeding those levels cannot be measured directly with this model. The four manual ranges step through 200, 2 000, 20 000 and 200 000 lux, and 20, 200, 2 000 and 20 000 FC. If the application demands a higher upper limit, a different meter will be necessary.
