Selector Switch for 30 mm Panels

This 30 mm selector switch mounts in standard control-panel cut-outs and provides three maintained positions for machine-control circuits. It is suited to panel builders and maintenance engineers who need a rugged operator with a black plastic lever and zinc die-cast bezel. The unit carries a 10 A at 600 V AC contact rating and meets NEMA 1, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 enclosure ratings. It is not intended for illuminated or key-operated applications.

Installation Notes

The switch fits a 30 mm mounting hole and uses a lever operator that locks into each of the three maintained positions. Wiring connects to the 1NO/1NC contact block; the cam C arrangement gives XO operation at position A and OO at position B. Common issues include mis-wiring the change-over contacts or exceeding the 10 A rating, which can cause premature contact wear. No key-removal feature is present, so the lever remains user-accessible at all times.

Capacity and Limits

The contact block handles 10 A at 600 V AC, making it suitable for pilot-duty and moderate motor-control loads within industrial panels. It is not rated for higher currents or voltages, so circuits requiring greater switching capacity will need a larger contactor or disconnect. The NEMA 4X and 13 ratings provide protection against water, oil and dust ingress, but the switch has no IP rating and is not designed for direct exposure to high-pressure wash-down beyond the NEMA 4X test conditions.
