The Sick WL100-N1409 is a photoelectric retro-reflective sensor with NPN switching output. It operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply and uses visible red light at 645 nm. The rectangular ABS/PC/POM housing measures 11 mm by 31 mm by 20 mm and weighs 53 g. It is suited for automation engineers who need a compact presence detector with a polarisation filter.

Sustained operation up to 1,000 Hz switching

The sensor delivers a response time of 0.5 ms and a maximum switching frequency of 1,000 Hz. Power consumption stays at 30 mA with a ripple tolerance of ± 10 %. The light/dark rotary selector lets the output mode be set without rewiring. An IP67 enclosure rating and an operating range of –25 °C to +55 °C support continuous duty in harsh environments.

Replaces sensors without polarisation filter

This unit upgrades installations that lack a polarisation filter or require a longer sensing distance. The sensing range reaches 0.1 m to 7.5 m maximum and 0.1 m to 6 m typical. The 2 m PVC cable with 0.18 mm² conductors and the supplied stainless steel bracket plus P250 reflector simplify retrofit.
