M12 Inductive Sensor with 6 mm Range

The Sick IME12-06BPSZC0S is a cylindrical M12 inductive proximity sensor designed for industrial automation and machine monitoring. Its PNP normally-open output switches on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply, making it suitable for PLC inputs and control circuits that require a positive switching signal. The nickel-plated brass housing and PA 66 sensing face withstand temperatures from –25 °C to +75 °C.

Quasi-Flush Mounting and 800 Hz Switching

Quasi-flush installation allows the sensor to sit nearly level with surrounding metal while maintaining a 6 mm nominal sensing range and a 4.86 mm safe sensing range. The 800 Hz switching frequency supports fast part detection on conveyors or rotating equipment, though the 50 ms power-up delay means the output is not immediate after supply voltage is applied. An IP67 enclosure rating protects against water jets and temporary immersion.

Triple-Range Upgrade for Standard M12 Slots

This model replaces standard-range M12 sensors that typically offer 2 mm to 4 mm sensing distances, providing triple the range without changing the thread size or connector layout. The upgrade is worth it when the target cannot be positioned close to the sensor face, such as when detecting through a non-metallic guard or when mechanical tolerances prevent precise alignment. It is not for applications requiring NPN output, analog signals, or a sensing distance beyond 6 mm.
