Compact rectangular sensor for short-range detection

The Sick GTB10-N1211 is a photoelectric proximity sensor with background suppression designed for industrial automation tasks. Its rectangular plastic housing measures 20 mm by 50 mm by 39 mm and carries an IP67 enclosure rating for dust and water protection. The unit operates on a 10 V DC to 30 V DC supply and draws 20 mA. An NPN switching output supports light or dark switching selectable via a built-in selector.

Sensing range tops out at 950 mm

The PinPoint LED emits at 625 nm and produces an 8 mm light spot at 700 mm distance. Background suppression helps ignore objects beyond the set range, but the maximum reach is fixed at 950 mm. A 5-turn potentiometer adjusts the sensing distance within that span. Response time is 500 µs, yielding a 1,000 Hz switching frequency suitable for fast-moving targets.

Two-metre PVC cable with three 0.14 mm² conductors

The fixed cable terminates in a 3-wire configuration and cannot be replaced with a connectorised option. Output current is limited to 100 mA, so loads must stay below that threshold. Protection class III circuitry includes supply and output safeguards. Ambient operating temperature spans –30 °C to +60 °C, and the sensor meets EN 60947-5-2 and UL325 standards.
