Grounding strap for 1/2–2 in pipes

This pack supplies ten copper-coated steel straps designed to bond a copper ground wire to water pipes, conduit, ground rods or service masts up to two inches in diameter. The adjustable clamp and curved nut create a secure mechanical and electrical connection for residential or light-commercial grounding tasks. Each strap includes a built-in set-screw stud that accepts a standard terminal wrench, allowing wire changes without loosening the clamp.

Replaces loose or corroded ground clamps

When an existing strap shows oxidation, a stripped screw or a poor fit on the pipe, these straps restore a code-compliant bond without replacing the pipe itself. The jump is worth it whenever the old hardware can no longer guarantee a low-resistance path to earth or when a new satellite, CATV or telephone drop requires a dedicated grounding point. The copper coating resists corrosion better than plain steel, extending service life in damp locations.

Install with a terminal wrench in minutes

Loosen the set screw, wrap the strap around the pipe, tighten the curved nut until snug, then secure the 10-14 AWG ground wire under the stud. The punched holes and captive screw keep parts from falling during the job. The most common mistake is over-tightening the nut, which can deform the strap and reduce contact area; stop when the clamp feels firm and the wire is held fast.
