Cordless Plastic Welding Kit

The Portasol PP75 is a cordless plastic welding kit designed for automotive and general repair tasks. It uses butane fuel to transfer heat through direct contact rather than hot air, allowing work near heat-sensitive cables, foams and textiles without uncontrolled heat spread. The ultrasonically welded gas tank improves strength and reliability while butane-compatible plastics prevent leaks. No special training is required to operate the kit.

Build Integration and Workflow

The kit includes a Pro Piezo soldering iron, plastic welding tip, brass brush, Allen key, cleaning piston, reinforcement grid and twenty welding rods covering polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene and ABS. All components fit inside a robust hinged carry case with a handle and two latches, keeping tools organised and portable. Contact-based heating frees the user from compressed-air lines or mains power, so repairs can be made in tight engine bays or on-site locations.

Upgrade Path and Suitability

This kit replaces open-flame torches or hot-air stations that risk warping thin sheets or damaging adjacent materials. The jump is worth it when welding water-absorbing plastics such as ABS, PC and PA, or when reinforcement grid is needed to fill holes and add strength. It is not suited for high-volume production lines requiring continuous automated feed, nor for metal soldering tasks that demand precise temperature control beyond the iron’s fixed output.
