The Narwhal 13-piece set uses M35 cobalt steel with five percent cobalt content for drilling hardened and stainless steel, cast iron, bronze and titanium. Each bit is fully ground to a precise 1/16 inch diameter and features a 135 degree split point that reduces walking and eases repeated hole drilling. The bits measure 1-3/16 inches overall with an 11/16 inch flute length and come organised in a durable plastic storage case.

Split Point Geometry and Cobalt Limits

The 135 degree split point centres the bit without a centre punch and lowers thrust pressure, which is useful when drilling work-hardening alloys such as stainless steel. M35 cobalt resists heat better than high-speed steel but will still dull if run at excessive speed or without adequate lubrication. The 1/16 inch diameter leaves little chip clearance, so deep holes in tough materials require frequent pecking to avoid breakage.

Capacity and Practical Headroom

Thirteen bits give ample replacements for production runs or for bits lost to breakage in small-diameter work. The set comfortably handles sheet metal, thin-wall tubing and shallow holes up to the 11/16 inch flute depth in the listed alloys. It runs out when hole depth exceeds flute length, when workpiece thickness demands a larger shank for rigidity, or when a job requires diameters other than 1/16 inch.
