Transparent Silicone Weather Seal Kit

The Meterk kit supplies sixteen transparent silicone strips, each 16.5 feet long and 25 mm wide, for sealing gaps around windows and doors. Homeowners and DIY installers can cut the material to any length and press the self-adhesive backing onto clean frames to block drafts, dust and noise. The non-toxic silicone resists UV and rain without degrading, making it suitable for frameless sliding doors, glass doors, shower enclosures and aluminium or plastic-steel windows. Installation takes minutes with a measure-cut-clean-stick routine.

Cold-Weather Adhesion and Durability

The adhesive softens in low temperatures, so the manufacturer recommends warming the roll or using a hair dryer before application to restore tack. Once bonded, the strip remains waterproof and does not de-gum in sustained rain or direct sunshine. The flexible silicone compresses to fill uneven gaps, maintaining an airtight seal through seasonal expansion and contraction without hardening or cracking.

Single-Sided Adhesive Limitation

The product relies on a single peel-and-stick backing, so surfaces that are porous, oily or permanently damp may not hold the strip securely. Builders needing mechanical fasteners, double-sided tape systems or fire-rated intumescent seals should select a different solution. The kit is also not designed for structural gaps wider than the 25 mm profile or for high-traffic thresholds that require rigid thresholds or brush seals.
