Annular Cutter for Magnetic Drills

The Evolution CC500 is a 1/2 inch diameter annular cutter with a 1 inch cutting depth designed for magnetic drill presses. It targets metalworkers who need to produce finished holes quickly in structural steel or fabrication shops. By cutting only the hole periphery it removes less material than a twist drill of the same size. This reduces the force required and shortens cycle time on each hole.

Sustained Cutting Behaviour

Because the cutter removes a narrow ring of material the load on the motor stays lower during the full depth of cut. The high-speed steel body maintains its geometry through repeated holes without the wandering that can occur with long twist drills. Heat is concentrated in the slug rather than the tool face so the cutting edges stay cooler during a run of identical holes. The result is a consistent feed rate from the first hole to the last.

Replaces Twist Drill Workflow

This cutter replaces the multi-step process of pilot drilling then enlarging with a twist drill or reamer. It is worth the switch when hole finish and positional accuracy matter more than the cost of a dedicated cutter. Shops that drill occasional holes in thin sheet may not recover the tool cost. The tool carries a Proposition 65 notice for chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
