Kit contents and intended use

This Dayton kit provides two steel U-bolt clips and one steel thimble sized for 3/8 inch wire rope. It is designed for installers who need to form a reinforced eye or loop in galvanised steel rope for lifting, pulling or securing loads. The fittings are supplied new and ready for immediate assembly.

Build quality and daily handling

Both clips and the thimble are made from steel with a galvanised finish to resist corrosion during outdoor or industrial use. The thimble has an inside loop length of 2 3/8 inches and an inside width of 1 1/2 inches, shaping the rope bend to reduce wear at the contact point. A turnback length of 6 1/2 inches is required when seating the clips.

Practical limits of the fittings

The kit is rated only for 3/8 inch diameter galvanised steel rope; other diameters or rope materials are not compatible. It includes no sleeves and only a single thimble, so multiple eyes or larger projects will require additional kits.
