10 A Panel Mount Breaker

The Bussmann CB174-10 is a single-pole, panel-mount circuit breaker rated at 10 amps for 32 V DC and 250 V AC circuits. It uses a push-button actuator with manual reset and a medium trip curve for general-purpose overcurrent protection. The unit mounts through a 0.375 in diameter cutout and accepts panels up to 0.375 in thick with a 3/8-27 threaded bushing. Two 1/4 in quick-connect terminals complete the electrical connection.

DC Rating Limits Use Cases

At 32 V DC the breaker carries a 1 kA interrupting rating at 250 V AC only, so DC fault currents above that level are not covered by the published rating. The medium curve delays tripping on short overloads but will not coordinate with faster or slower devices without system-level testing. Operating temperature is not rated by the manufacturer, so extreme cold or heat installations need separate verification. The single-pole design cannot protect multi-phase loads or provide isolation on both conductors.

Replaces Fuses in Low-Voltage Panels

This breaker replaces a 10 A blade or cartridge fuse in automotive, marine or industrial DC panels where a resettable device reduces downtime and spare-parts inventory. The jump is worth it when the circuit experiences occasional nuisance trips and manual reset is faster than fuse replacement. It does not suit applications needing automatic reset, remote trip indication or a higher DC interrupting rating than 1 kA at 250 V AC.
