Ultrasonic sensor for distance sensing

The Banner T30UXDA is a barrel-style ultrasonic sensor designed for proximity detection using time-of-flight measurement. It operates on a 10 to 30 V dc supply and offers a sensing range from 100 mm to 1000 mm. The discrete output is configurable between NPN and PNP with normally open or normally closed logic. A teach button allows for straightforward setup adjustments.

Stable output across temperature shifts

Temperature compensation limits drift to 0.02% of sensing distance per degree Celsius, maintaining repeatability of 0.1% of distance with a 0.5 mm minimum during extended operation. The sensor powers up in 500 ms and delivers a maximum switched output of 100 mA. Output protection guards against short-circuit conditions, while NPN saturation stays below 1.6 V and PNP below 3 V at full load.

Rugged housing sealed to IP6

The red PBT barrel housing meets MIL-STD-202F Method 201A for vibration from 10 to 60 Hz and IEC 60947-5-2 for 30 G mechanical shock. A fixed 2 m cable with four conductors provides the connection without a quick-disconnect fitting. LED indicators give immediate visual status feedback. This unit suits industrial environments where consistent ultrasonic sensing is required.
