Fixed-field sensor for 200 mm range

The Banner S18-2VPFF200-2M is a barrel-style proximity sensor designed for discrete object detection up to 200 mm. It operates on a 10-30 V dc supply and provides complementary PNP outputs through a 4-conductor PVC cable. The fixed background suppression mode ignores objects beyond the set distance, making it suitable for automated assembly and packaging lines where consistent presence sensing is required.

200 mm sensing with background suppression

The sensor reliably detects targets within the 200 mm maximum range using a visible red LED beam at 624 nm wavelength. Background suppression ensures stable operation when the target colour or reflectivity varies, while the 1.5 ms response time supports high-speed counting or sorting tasks. Repeatability of 100 µs provides consistent switching points across repeated cycles, though detection is limited to the fixed 200 mm field and cannot be adjusted for longer distances.

IP67 housing for -40 °C to 70 °C operation

The thermoplastic barrel with acrylic lens meets IP67 ingress protection and withstands ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 70 °C at up to 95 % relative humidity. Ecolab certification confirms resistance to aggressive cleaning agents common in food and beverage environments. The 2 m PVC cable carries power and signal without a quick-disconnect, and the unit draws power only during the 100 ms start-up delay before normal operation begins.
