These two black carabiner clips are built for everyday carry and light outdoor tasks. Each clip uses a spring-loaded wire gate that opens with one hand for quick attachment to packs, key rings or pet leashes. The D-shaped body gives the largest gate opening while keeping the profile compact enough to slip into a pocket. They are not rated for climbing or life-safety applications.

Installing and Common Issues

No tools are required; simply press the gate to open and clip onto a loop, strap or ring. The improved spring closes the gate automatically and reduces gate lash during repeated use. Dirt or sand can accumulate in the hinge, so rinse with fresh water if the action becomes gritty. Overloading beyond the rated static load may cause permanent deformation.

Capacity and Headroom

The maximum static load is 855 lbs or 388 kg in the fully open position, which comfortably secures hammocks, gear bags, water bottles and dog harnesses. The limit applies to steady, non-shock loads only; dynamic forces from falls or sudden jerks will exceed the rating. For any situation where a fall is possible, use certified climbing hardware instead.
