Temperature controller for electricians

The Autonics T3S-B4RK4C-N is a temperature controller built for electricians and panel builders who need on/off or proportional control in industrial cabinets. It accepts a K-type thermocouple input and displays the process value on a three-digit seven-segment LED. The thumbwheel switch lets operators set the target value without a separate programmer. Powered from 100-240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, it fits standard mains supplies worldwide.

Range and output headroom

The setting range covers 0 to 400 units, so it handles common heating and cooling loops in packaging, plastics and food equipment. The relay output switches up to 5 A at 250 VAC, giving enough capacity for small contactors, solenoid valves or heater bands directly. Sampling runs at 100 ms, which is adequate for slow thermal processes but too slow for fast pressure or flow loops. Applications that need analogue retransmission or communications must look elsewhere.

Thermals and power draw

The unit draws only a few watts from the mains, so self-heating inside the enclosure is minimal and no forced-air cooling is required. The relay clicks audibly when it switches, which is normal for electromechanical output but may be noticeable in quiet control rooms. With no fan and solid-state input circuitry, long-term reliability depends mainly on the relay contact life under the actual load current.
