Limits of the 17-inch keyboard standard

The shelf is sized specifically for keyboards up to 17 inches wide, so wider or non-standard layouts will not fit. Its sliding mechanism is built for the depth and mounting pattern of a four-post rack, meaning it cannot be secured in two-post or wall-mount frames. No cable-management features are integrated, so cords must be routed separately.

Capacity and headroom for rack keyboards

The tray comfortably holds a full-size 17 inch keyboard and provides smooth extension for daily typing tasks. It runs out of room if you need to accommodate a keyboard with an integrated pointing device that exceeds the width allowance, or if you require a mouse surface on the same shelf.
