AI-scale compute platform

The Supermicro SYS-821GE-TNHR is an 8U barebones server built for AI, ML and HPC workloads. It supports dual 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors in LGA 4677 sockets and an NVIDIA HGX H100 8-GPU SXM5 board. CPU-to-GPU links run over PCIe 5.0 x16 while GPU-to-GPU communication uses NVLink with NVSwitch. The system targets organisations training large models or running high-performance inference.

Rugged rackmount chassis with dense storage

The 8U rackmount frame houses 16 hot-swap 2.5-inch NVMe bays plus three hot-swap SATA bays for mixed high-speed and capacity storage. Two M.2 NVMe slots are reserved for boot drives. Cryptographically signed firmware, secure boot, secure firmware updates, automatic firmware recovery, remote attestation, runtime BMC protections and system lockdown harden the supply chain and runtime environment. Operating temperature range is 10°C to 35°C.

Memory and expansion ready for customisation

Thirty-two 288-pin DDR5 4800 ECC slots accept up to 8TB using 256GB modules. Expansion includes two PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height half-length slots, two optional PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height half-length slots and eight PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slots for networking or accelerator cards. The platform ships as a full system only; B2B engagement is required for configuration changes. No CPUs, GPUs, memory or drives are included.
