Dual-socket LGA 4677 barebone for AI and HPC

The Supermicro SYS-421GE-TNRT is a 4U rackmount barebone that accepts up to two 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with a 350 W TDP ceiling each. It targets teams building dense GPU clusters for training or inference workloads where CPU-GPU bandwidth matters. No processors, memory or storage are included.

PCIe 5.0 x16 switching and GPU interconnect limits

The system provides 13 PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height full-length slots routed through a dual-root switch complex, enabling up to 10 double-width accelerators such as NVIDIA A100, H100, L40S, L40 or A10. GPU-to-GPU traffic can use optional NVLink bridges; without them, peer transfers fall back to the PCIe fabric. Only two M.2 NVMe slots are available for boot or cache devices.

Installation notes for integrators

Eight hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays support SATA, SAS with an add-in controller, or NVMe directly. Thirty-two DDR5 4800 ECC DIMM slots populate eight channels per socket; validated 256 GB modules reach the 8 TB maximum. Eight heavy-duty fans with automatic speed control handle airflow for both air- and liquid-cooled CPU configurations. Builders who need more than 10 GPUs or OCP 3.0 networking beyond the single Intel X710-AT2 port should evaluate alternative chassis.
