The Supermicro RSC-RR1U-E8 is a passive riser card built for 1U rackmount chassis. It converts a single motherboard PCI Express x8 slot into a horizontally mounted PCI Express x8 slot. This allows the installation of full-height expansion cards in servers where vertical clearance is limited to one rack unit. The black PCB matches standard server aesthetics.

Upgrade from Vertical Slot Constraints

This riser replaces the need to mount expansion cards vertically in a 1U enclosure, which is physically impossible for most full-height add-in cards. The jump is worth it when a server build requires a RAID controller, network adapter, or HBA that exceeds the chassis height limit.
