Five-port USB 3.2 expansion card for desktop PCs
This LUOM PCIe x1 card adds two USB-C and three USB-A ports to a desktop computer. It is suited to users who need more high-speed ports for external drives, peripherals or VR headsets. The board fits any PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and works with Windows from XP to 11, Linux and macOS 10.8.2 or later. No external power adapter is required.
Passive cooling and PCIe bus power in normal use
The card draws all power from the PCIe slot and operates between 0 °C and 70 °C with 5–95 % non-condensing humidity. Each USB-C port can deliver up to 30 W for charging phones, tablets or laptops, while each USB-A port supplies up to 7.5 W under the BC 1.2 scheme. Over-current protection and explosion-proof capacitors guard connected devices during typical workloads.
Shared 20 Gbps bandwidth under sustained load
All five ports share a total 20 Gbps pipe; a single port can reach 10 Gbps when used alone. When multiple devices transfer large files simultaneously the aggregate throughput is divided across the active ports. Driver installation is needed for Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Server editions, while Windows 10, 11 and macOS 10.8.2+ work without extra software.

Questions about this item
How do I install this PCIe USB 3.2 card in a desktop PC and which step is often missed?
Insert the card into any free PCI Express x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot, secure it with the two supplied screws, and install the driver from the included CD on Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Server 2008; Windows 10, 11 and Mac OS 10.8.2+ work without extra drivers.
What maintenance or replacement will this expansion card need over time?
No scheduled maintenance is required; the on-board over-current protection chips and IEC 61000-4-2 rated ESD safeguards are solid-state, so only a physical failure or a future motherboard upgrade would prompt replacement.
What throughput limit appears first when all five ports run sustained transfers?
The five ports share a 20 Gbps PCIe link, so combined traffic cannot exceed 20 Gbps even though each port can reach 10 Gbps alone.
