High-Strength Threadlocker Stick

Loctite 268 Red is a high-strength anaerobic threadlocker supplied in a solid stick format. It is designed for permanent locking of threaded fasteners up to three-quarters of an inch in diameter on metals such as steel, brass, bronze, copper, iron and nickel alloys. The no-drip solid form allows precise application without liquid mess, making it suitable for maintenance technicians and assembly operations requiring reliable vibration resistance.

Solid Stick Application

The stick container delivers adhesive directly to threads with no dripping or running, even on vertical or overhead joints. A working time of five minutes gives enough window to position parts before the anaerobic cure begins. Full cure develops between metal surfaces in the absence of air, reaching a breakaway torque of ninety inch-pounds. For passive substrates or faster cure speeds, the manufacturer specifies compatibility with Loctite 7649 primer series.

Upgrade From Liquid Threadlockers

This product replaces liquid anaerobic threadlockers where migration, spillage or difficult access make bottles impractical. The jump is worth it when assembly speed and cleanliness are priorities, or when overhead application would cause liquid products to run before curing. It is not for applications requiring removable strength, low-strength adjustability, or fasteners larger than the stated maximum diameter.
