Expansion Module for ExtremeSwitching X465

The Extreme Networks VIM5-4X is a four-port SFP+ expansion module designed for the ExtremeSwitching X465 series. It adds high-speed uplink capability to compatible switches in data networking and optical network environments. The module installs directly into an available expansion slot on the switch chassis.

Four SFP+ Ports for 10 Gigabit Ethernet

The module provides four SFP+ expansion slots supporting both 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet speeds. It handles 10GBase-X and 1000Base-X network technologies over optical fiber media. Port density is fixed at four slots, so larger aggregation requirements need additional modules or switches.

Optical Fiber Uplink Flexibility

The VIM5-4X accepts standard SFP+ transceivers to match the required fiber type and reach for each link. It draws power from the host switch and requires no separate cabling or power supply. Compatibility is limited to the ExtremeSwitching X465 series, so other platforms cannot use this module.
