Two-port manual RJ45 switch

This white plastic switch lets you route a single Ethernet connection between two devices or share one network link between two computers. A mechanical button selects the active port without any external power supply. The passive design provides physical isolation between the connected networks. It suits home offices or small workspaces that need occasional manual switching.

100 Mbit/s Ethernet limit

The switch operates at 100 Mbit/s, so gigabit or faster links will negotiate down to this speed. Auto-negotiation handles the rate change, but throughput cannot exceed the 100 Mbit/s ceiling. Latency added by the mechanical contacts is negligible for typical office traffic. The device does not require a power adapter, so it adds no electrical noise to the line.

Two devices sharing one link

The switch comfortably handles two computers alternating access to a single 100 Mbit/s uplink. File transfers, web browsing and standard definition streaming run within the available bandwidth. Simultaneous heavy transfers on both ports will saturate the link because only one port is active at a time. It is not suited for scenarios that need concurrent gigabit throughput or automated failover.
