The ASRock Rack 2U12L-ICX2 is a 2U rackmount barebone built for dual Socket P+ (LGA 4189) processors. It supports 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and provides 12 hot-swap bays that accept 3.5 or 2.5 inch drives. Two fixed 2.5 inch SATA bays add internal boot or cache options. Redundant 1600W CRPS power supplies are included.

Storage-heavy workloads, not GPU farms

This platform suits buyers who need dense drive capacity and high memory bandwidth in a 2U form factor. The 16+16 DIMM layout supports DDR4 RDIMM, LRDIMM, 3DS modules and Intel Optane Persistent Memory 200 series. Builders who require multiple double-width accelerators or more than three full-height x16 PCIe 4.0 slots should look at a different chassis.

Steady throughput with redundant power

Under sustained load the dual 1600W CRPS units share current and maintain delivery if one module fails. Seven full-height PCIe 4.0 expansion slots plus two low-profile x8 slots keep I/O paths open for networking and storage controllers. Two M.2 sockets accept PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA 6Gb/s devices. Dual 1GbE ports and an OCP NIC 3.0 slot handle baseline connectivity.
