Dual-Voltage Power Supply for Access Control

The ALTRONIX AL125ULP is a switching power supply and charger designed for access-control and fire-alarm installations. It accepts a 24VAC 40VA input and provides two individually PTC-protected outputs selectable at 12VDC or 24VDC at 1A each. A built-in charger supports sealed lead-acid or gel batteries with automatic switchover on AC failure. The grey steel enclosure measures 8.50 by 7.50 by 3.50 inches and includes a plug-in transformer, battery leads and a cam lock.

Installers needing supervised outputs

This unit suits security professionals who require Class 2 power with AC-fail supervision via Form C contacts and a supervised fire-alarm disconnect that can be configured latching or non-latching. An access-control trigger input allows direct integration with door controllers. It is not intended for general-purpose IT equipment, consumer electronics or applications that demand higher current per output or a different input voltage range.

Two 1A outputs with battery backup headroom

Each output delivers up to 1A at the selected voltage, sufficient for typical strikes, maglocks and reader boards. The internal charger supplies a maximum of .4A to the standby battery, so large battery banks will charge slowly. When mains power is lost the supply switches to battery automatically, but total load across both outputs must stay within the 1A per output limit or the PTCs will trip.
