The Zebra USB-C Ethernet Adapter with Charging adds a 100 Mbps wired network port to laptops, tablets and phones that only have USB-C. It draws power from the host port to charge the connected device while the Ethernet link is active. Compatible models include iPhone 15 Pro, MacBook Pro and Air from 2016 onward, iPad Pro from 2018, Samsung Galaxy S22 and S21, and a range of Chromebooks and ultraportables. The matte black dongle weighs .025 kg and measures 20 mm across its widest point.

Thermals and Power in Daily Use

The adapter runs without a fan and stays cool during typical browsing, video calls and streaming because the 100 Mbps controller draws little current. Power delivery passes up to 15 W through the USB-C port so the host device charges at the same time. No driver installation is required on supported operating systems, so the link is established as soon as the cable is plugged in. The compact housing adds no audible noise to a quiet workspace.

Behaviour Under Sustained Load

During long file transfers or continuous HD streaming the Ethernet controller maintains its 100 Mbps rate without throttling, as the thermal design dissipates the modest heat through the aluminium shell. The pass-through charging circuit continues to supply up to 15 W, preventing battery drain on the host even when the network is fully utilised. The connection remains stable as long as the upstream router provides a DHCP lease and the Ethernet cable stays seated. The adapter does not perform dial-up or authentication itself.
