20-Pack RJ45 Cat5 Couplers for Network Extension

This pack contains twenty black RJ45 female-to-female couplers designed to join two Ethernet cables into a longer run. Each unit accepts standard 8P8C plugs and works with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat7 cable types. They are intended for installers or home users who need to extend existing patch leads without crimping new ends. The couplers are not compatible with RJ11 telephone connectors.

Upgrade from Single-Length Cables or Custom Crimping

Instead of replacing a short cable with a longer pre-made run or terminating bulk cable on site, these couplers let you link two existing patch cords in seconds. The jump is worth it when you have spare cables of the right category and need a quick, tool-free extension for a desk move, a temporary test link or a permanent install where pulling new cable is impractical. They do not add active signal conditioning, so they cannot compensate for runs that already exceed the channel length limit.

Limits of Passive Inline Coupling

The couplers meet TIA/EIA 568-C.2 Category 6 performance and support data rates up to 10 gigabite per second when used with Cat6 or Cat7 cable. Each connection introduces a small amount of insertion loss and return loss, which reduces the total allowable channel length compared with a single continuous cable. They provide no shielding of their own, so overall performance depends on the shielding and quality of the cables being joined. They cannot convert between RJ45 and other connector types.
