Purpose-built enclosure

The Wiegmann N412242408SSC is a 24.0 in by 24.0 in by 8.0 in stainless steel electrical box rated NEMA 3R, 4, 4X and 12 with IP66 protection. It suits installers who need a wall-mounted enclosure for industrial or outdoor environments where corrosion resistance and dust ingress protection are required.

Installation realities

The box uses a 1/4 turn semiflush latch on a hinged cover and includes mounting holes for wall attachment. A seamless polyurethane poured-in-place gasket seals the enclosure, so alignment of the cover and latch pressure must be checked during fitment to maintain the rated seal. Interior panels 2NJ40 or 2NJ41 mount inside, but are not supplied with the box.

Sustained load behaviour

Constructed from 14 ga 304 stainless steel with a #3 brushed finish, the enclosure resists corrosion during long-term exposure to wash-downs, weather and chemical splash. The solid cover and continuous gasket maintain IP66 and NEMA 4X integrity over extended duty cycles without the degradation seen in gasketed designs that rely on adhesive strips.
