Dual-Port SAS Adapter

This Vszerda adapter converts two external SFF-8644 Mini SAS HD ports to internal SFF-8643 connectors. It is designed for system builders and IT professionals who need to link external SAS controllers or enclosures to internal drives or backplanes. The passive PCBA design requires no external power and works on both host and device sides. It fits low-profile and standard brackets for flexible mounting.

Build Integration

The board occupies a single PCI slot bracket and provides two internal SFF-8643 ports for direct cabling to drive cages or HBAs. It frees up internal space by moving the high-density SFF-8644 interface to the rear panel. No additional drivers or active components are needed, so it drops into existing SAS infrastructures without configuration changes. Both low-profile and standard brackets are included for chassis compatibility.

Thermals and Power

As a passive adapter, it draws no power and adds no active cooling requirement to the system. Heat generation is negligible under normal 12 Gb/s SAS operation. The bare PCBA exposes no moving parts, ensuring silent operation in noise-sensitive environments. It complies with the SAS 2.1 specification and is forward-compatible with the SAS 3.0 standard for 12 Gb/s data rates.
