Adapter for U.2 NVMe SSDs

The Vszerda SF-024 converts a SFF-8643 Mini SAS HD connector on a motherboard or controller to a PCIe 3.0 x4 U.2 interface. It enables the use of enterprise U.2 NVMe solid-state drives such as the Intel SSD 750, P3600 and P3700 series in a standard expansion slot. The kit includes a low-profile bracket for compact chassis builds.

Installation notes

Mount the card in any PCIe 3.0 x4 or larger slot and attach the SFF-8643 cable to the board header. The adapter only functions with PCIe-based U.2 NVMe drives; it will not operate with SAS or Mini SAS HD devices. No drivers are required beyond the standard NVMe support present in modern operating systems.

Compatibility check

Verify that your motherboard or RAID controller provides a SFF-8643 port wired for PCIe signalling. Confirm the target SSD uses the U.2 SFF-8639 connector and communicates over NVMe. Ensure a free PCIe 3.0 x4 slot is available and that the chassis can accommodate the low-profile bracket if a full-height slot is not used.
