What this cable does

The Vszerda SF-017-0.5M-NG connects an Oculink SFF-8611 4i port on a motherboard or controller to a U.2 or U.3 NVME SSD with an SFF-8639 connector. It carries PCIe 5.0, 4.0 and 3.0 x4 signals over a 50cm black cable without changing speed or protocol. No drivers are required and the cable is transparent to the operating system. The assembly is new and includes only the cable.

Who should use it and who should not

Builders adding a U.2 or U.3 NVME drive to a board with an Oculink SFF-8611 header will find this a direct fit. It also suits Hyper Kit storage controllers and Ultra M.2 card installations such as the 750 M.2 form factor. Buyers who need SAS connectivity must look elsewhere because the cable only supports PCIe. Anyone who requires hot-plug capability should also choose a different solution since hot-plug is not supported.
