The Vszerda RCA Svideo to HDMI converter ships with an integrated HDMI cable plus built-in RCA and S-Video leads, so no separate cables are required. It accepts composite or S-Video input from devices such as VHS players, DVD players, set-top boxes or older game consoles and upscales the signal to 720p or 1080p for modern displays. Power is drawn from any 5 V USB port via the included micro-USB lead. The unit automatically detects 480i NTSC or 576i PAL sources and stores the last-used settings on power-up.

Check your source connections and display limits

Verify that your source device provides either a yellow RCA composite jack or an S-Video port, because the converter handles only one video input at a time. If you use the S-Video input you must also connect the red and white RCA audio plugs, as both video types share the same stereo audio input. Ensure your target TV, projector or monitor accepts a 720p or 1080p HDMI signal; if it cannot display 1920 x 1080, set the output switch to 720p. The converter works in one direction only — RCA or S-Video to HDMI — and cannot pass HDMI back to analogue.
