This adapter converts a PCIe x4 slot into an SFF-8643 Mini SAS connector so a 2.5" U.2 NVMe SSD can be installed inside a desktop computer. It includes a 1.64FT SFF-8639 to SFF-8643 cable plus both full-profile and low-profile brackets for case mounting. The card fits PCIe x4, x8 and x16 slots and is rated for PCIe 4.0 while remaining backward compatible with PCIe 3.0. It is designed specifically for U.2 NVMe drives such as the Intel 750 Series.

Compatibility check before ordering

Verify that your motherboard has a free PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot and that the operating system is a recent Windows release with NVMe support. The adapter only works with U.2 NVMe SSDs; it will not function with SAS or Mini SAS HD drives. Confirm the SSD uses the U.2 (SFF-8639) interface and that the 1.64FT cable length reaches from the slot to your drive mounting location. No other interface or protocol is supported by this card.

Build integration notes

The adapter occupies one PCIe expansion slot and uses the included cable to link the SSD to the SFF-8643 port on the bracket. Both full-profile and low-profile brackets are supplied so the card fits standard or slim chassis designs. Because the card draws power from the PCIe slot, no extra power connectors are required for the adapter itself. It frees internal drive bays by letting a U.2 NVMe SSD mount anywhere the cable reaches.
