What This Extension Does

The Vaxcel 2277KK downrod adds 48 inches of drop length so a ceiling fan hangs at the right height in rooms with 13 foot ceilings. It is built from steel with a black finish that coordinates with oil shale, oil rubbed bronze, oil burnished bronze, noble bronze, aged bronze and dark bronze fans. Compatibility is not universal across all brands. One rod is used per fan and rods must not be connected together.

Behaviour Under Continuous Use

Steel construction provides the strength needed to support the fan weight continuously without bending or sagging over time. The fixed 0.75 inch diameter maintains a rigid connection between the canopy and the motor housing during constant rotation. Because the rod is a single piece, there are no joints that can loosen under sustained vibration. The correct length must be chosen for the ceiling height before installation.

Thermals Noise And Power

The extension is a passive metal component and draws no electrical power during operation. It adds no audible noise of its own; any sound comes from the fan motor and blades above it. The black steel surface dissipates ambient heat normally and does not create a thermal concern for the installation. No active cooling or power supply is required for the downrod itself.
