Blue P-HOAT Antifreeze for Asian Vehicles

Valvoline Zerex 861398 is a pre-diluted 50/50 coolant formulated with ethylene glycol for Asian vehicle applications. The blue fluid meets Hyundai/Kia MS591-08, JIS K 2234-19 and Mitsubishi ES 64-217 specifications. It provides freeze protection to -34 degrees F and boil-over protection to 325 degrees F. The silicate-free, phosphate-containing blend carries a five-year or 150,000-mile service rating.

Simple Pour-In Installation With Common Mistakes

The one-gallon bottle pours directly into the radiator or reservoir after the system is drained and flushed. Because the coolant is already mixed 50/50, adding water dilutes the protection and raises the freezing point. Mixing with green or orange coolants can cause gel formation and clog passages. Always verify the vehicle calls for a blue P-HOAT fluid before filling.

P-HOAT Chemistry Limits And Compatibility

The phosphate-based organic acid technology protects aluminium, copper and solder but is not designed for nitrite-heavy heavy-duty diesel systems. The five-year or 150,000-mile interval assumes a clean, sealed cooling system; contamination or leaks shorten that life. The fluid is not biodegradable, so used coolant must be collected and recycled according to local regulations. It is restricted from sale in certain states.
