Seven-foot Cat6 patch cable

The Tripp Lite N201-007-GY is a seven-foot Category 6 UTP patch cable terminated with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. It is built for gigabit Ethernet links in homes, offices or data centres where a short, reliable copper run is required. The grey jacket and snagless boot simplify routing through crowded panels or desk grommets. Stranded conductors keep the cable flexible for repeated moves or temporary test setups.

Replaces worn or lower-rated cords

Swapping an older Cat5 or damaged Cat5e lead for this Cat6 cable restores headroom up to 550 MHz and meets the TIA/EIA-568-B-2.1 draft 9 standard verified by UL. The staggered-pin plug design reduces near-end crosstalk, so the upgrade is worthwhile when intermittent errors or negotiated speed drops appear on existing runs. It is not for installers who need plenum-rated jacket, shielded construction or lengths beyond the seven-foot reach.

Fits standard gigabit ports and patch panels

The RJ-45 plugs seat in any 8P8C jack on switches, routers, NICs or wall plates without adapters. Molded strain relief protects the termination during frequent insertion cycles, freeing the installer from field-termination time. The cable does not carry power-over-Ethernet negotiation beyond the standard four-pair data path, so PoE budgets and injector compatibility remain the responsibility of the connected equipment.
