50 ft Cat5e patch cable

This 50 ft Cat5e patch cable carries two RJ45 male connectors on stranded UTP construction with moulded strain relief. It suits installers who need a single black run between a switch and a wall plate or desk port. The PVC jacket protects the four twisted pairs across the full length.

350 MHz rating and 1 Gbps ceiling

The cable is rated for 350 MHz bandwidth and supports up to 1 Gbps communication, which is the practical limit of the Cat5e standard. Longer runs beyond the specified distance or tighter bends can reduce headroom, so the 50 ft length should be treated as the maximum reliable span for gigabit speeds. No higher category performance is claimed.

Replaces shorter or damaged Cat5 links

This cable replaces shorter patch leads that cannot reach distant ports or worn cords with broken latch tabs. The jump is worth it when the existing cable cannot span the required distance without a coupler or when signal errors appear on older Cat5 wiring. It does not upgrade a network beyond gigabit capability.
