The Thermal Grizzly TG-LT-aR7000 is a one-time-use kit designed to grind the integrated heatspreader on AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors. It simplifies the lapping process by providing a guided fixture made from CNC-milled acrylic glass. The transparent steps let you see exactly how much material has been removed during the procedure. The package includes all necessary sandpaper for the task.

Grinding depth from .4 mm up to 1.6 mm

The tool allows gradual grinding in increments of .4 mm, reaching a maximum total reduction of 1.6 mm from the original heatspreader height. With the standard AMD mounting frame, grinding stops at 1.0 mm when the middle steps are reached. Achieving the full 1.6 mm depth requires an alternative mounting method such as a compatible AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame. This range covers typical convexity correction while leaving a safety margin.

Single-use acrylic fixture with diamond-milled steps

The lapping tool is constructed from CNC-milled acrylic glass and is rated for one-time use only. Its steps are diamond-milled for high transparency, allowing visual confirmation of the grinding progress at each .4 mm increment.
