Practical Limits of the 12-Gauge Entry Points

The expandable housing accepts most standard extension cords including 3-prong plugs, while the wire entry points are sized for conductors up to 12 gauge. To fit a 12 AWG cord, the supplied PP grommets must be removed from the ends. Cords thicker than 12 gauge will not pass through the entry ports, and the internal cavity cannot accommodate oversized moulded plugs or inline devices such as GFCI modules.
