This 19.7-inch fan-out cable bridges a single 36-pin SFF-8087 Mini SAS port to four SATA 3.0 connectors. It lets system builders attach up to four SATA hard drives or solid-state drives to a SAS or SATA RAID controller or motherboard header. The red jacket makes the cable easy to trace inside a dense chassis. The 50 cm length suits compact server and workstation enclosures.

Build integration

The male Mini SAS plug inserts directly into a backplane or controller header without an adapter, while each female SATA receptacle accepts a standard 7-pin data cable. This layout frees the builder from hunting for a multi-lane backplane that matches the controller pin-out. The reverse orientation eases routing when the controller sits above the drive cage. No external power or active electronics are required for the connection.

What the bundle changes

The package supplies only the fan-out cable itself, so existing SATA data cables and drive-power leads remain the installer's responsibility. Because the assembly carries no firmware or configuration utility, it adds no software layer to the storage stack.
