50 ft Cat6 patch cable for wired networks

This 50 foot green Cat6 UTP patch cord uses 24 AWG stranded copper conductors and snag-less RJ45 plugs to connect routers, switches and end devices. It is rated for multi-gigabit speeds of 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps up to 160 ft at 250 MHz bandwidth. The cable carries 100 W Power over Ethernet and meets CMG fire-rating requirements for general-purpose indoor runs.

Practical limits of Cat6 UTP at 250 MHz

The 24 AWG stranded construction supports 10 Gbps transmission up to 160 ft, but attenuation rises beyond that distance and may reduce throughput to 5 Gbps or lower. Shielding is not present, so the cable is more susceptible to alien crosstalk in dense bundles or near electrical noise sources. The CMG jacket is not rated for plenum spaces or outdoor exposure, limiting installation to standard indoor pathways.

Snag-less boots ease routing through tight spaces

The snag-less RJ45 clips protect the locking tabs when pulling the cable through cable managers, conduits or crowded racks, reducing the chance of a broken latch that would cause intermittent connectivity. Stranded 24 AWG wire flexes more easily than solid core, but repeated sharp bends below the minimum bend radius can still fracture conductors. The 50-micron gold contacts resist oxidation, yet dust or debris in the port can still degrade the link until cleaned.
