6 ft 3.5 mm Male-to-Male Stereo Cable

This 1.83 m black cable connects two 3.5 mm stereo ports using gold-plated male connectors. The 28 AWG conductors carry left and right analogue audio signals inside a 3.0 mm PVC jacket. Its slim moulding slides into recessed jacks on smartphones, tablets or portable players even when a protective case is fitted. Weighing 27 g, it is intended for short desktop or mobile links.

Practical limits of the 3.5 mm analogue interface

The unbalanced stereo connection is susceptible to electromagnetic interference over longer runs, so the 6 ft length keeps noise pickup low for typical near-field use. Gold plating resists oxidation on the contact surfaces but does not eliminate ground-loop hum when source and destination share a mains earth. The 28 AWG wire gauge limits current-carrying capacity to line-level signals only.

Replaces fixed or shorter aux leads

It upgrades from cables with bulky mouldings that cannot seat fully in cased devices or from shorter leads that force the source close to the amplifier. The jump is worth it when you need reliable contact through a case, a tidy 1.83 m reach between desk gear, or gold-plated contacts for corrosion resistance in humid environments. Not for balanced professional audio, digital S/PDIF runs or speaker-level connections.
