STARTECH
A 7 ft Cat 6 UTP patch cable with RJ-45 connectors supporting up to 10 Gbps at 250 MHz over 160 ft, 24 AWG stranded copper, 100 W PoE and UL-rated wire
This 7 ft Cat 6 patch cable uses 24 AWG stranded 100% copper conductors rated to 250 MHz. Molded RJ-45 connectors on both ends include strain relief to reduce stress at the plug termination point. The blue jacket is UL listed under E132276-A and ETL verified for safety compliance.
Replacing a Cat 5e cord with this Cat 6 cable enables 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps operation alongside standard 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps links. The jump is worth it when switches, routers or NAS devices support multi-gigabit ports and the run stays within the rated distance. Existing Cat 5e cables remain adequate for 1 Gbps-only equipment.
The Cat 6 standard supports 10 Gbps only up to 160 ft; longer runs drop to 1 Gbps regardless of cable quality. PoE delivery is rated to 100 W, so high-power devices such as pan-tilt-zoom cameras or access points can be powered over the same conductors. Installations needing 10 Gbps beyond 160 ft require Cat 6a or higher cabling.

The cable has an RJ-45 male connector on both ends, so it plugs straight into any standard Ethernet port on a router, switch or network card.
Route the cable so the molded strain-relief boot is not forced into a sharp bend; the boot is designed to keep the cable from kinking right at the connector.
The 24 AWG 100 % copper conductors are rated for 100 W PoE, and the UL-rated jacket (E132276-A) maintains that capacity over the cable's service life.
