Ultra-short Cat6a patch lead

This six-inch aqua cable is a shielded Cat6a patch cord built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links. It uses 26 AWG stranded copper conductors and aluminium-polyester foil shielding to reject EMI and RFI. The CMG-rated PVC jacket meets general-purpose fire requirements and the snagless RJ45 boots protect the latch during frequent moves. It suits installers who need a tidy, high-speed jumper inside a rack or cabinet.

Shielding and PoE support

The foil screen and fully shielded connectors keep 10 Gbps signals clean in electrically noisy environments. The construction is rated for 100 W Power over Ethernet, so it can carry both data and high-power PoE loads without a separate power run. Snagless moulded boots prevent the locking tab from catching on adjacent cables, reducing downtime when re-patching dense panels.

Length and connector constraint

At only half a foot the cord cannot span between separate racks or wall outlets; it is limited to intra-cabinet or device-to-switch links. Both ends are fixed RJ45 plugs, so the cable cannot be field-terminated or adapted to keystone jacks. The 26 AWG stranded wire favours flexibility over long-distance signal integrity, making runs beyond a few metres unsuitable for 10 Gigabit operation.
