3 ft Cat6a shielded patch cable

This three-foot aqua cable is built for installers and network technicians who need a short, shielded run between patch panels, switches or wall outlets. The Cat6a rating supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet links in dense cabling environments where alien crosstalk is a concern. Its snagless boots protect the latch during frequent moves or dense bundling.

Aluminium-polyester foil shield

The cable uses a foil shield wrapped around 26 AWG stranded copper conductors to block EMI and RFI in electrically noisy racks or floor trays. Both ends carry standard RJ45 plugs with integral strain relief so the latch will not catch on neighbouring cables when pulled. A CMG fire rating allows general-purpose in-wall or under-floor routing without additional conduit.

Practical limits of Cat6a shielded cabling

Shielded Cat6a requires the shield to be bonded at both ends; if the connected hardware lacks shielded ports or a grounded patch panel the noise advantage disappears. The 26 AWG stranded construction is more flexible than solid-core cable but exhibits higher insertion loss, so the 100 metre channel limit is reached sooner on long permanent links. PoE loads up to 100 W are supported only when both endpoints negotiate the appropriate class.
